The former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, announced his resignation from the PDP yesterday. The former Senate President was till the time of his resignation, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party.’ Nnamani said, In his letter entitled: PDP, the Burden and My Conscience,
he took the decision after all efforts to refocus to rebuild the party
had proved abortive, blaming some elements in the opposition party for
its dwindling fortune.
His letter read: Without any iota of bitterness in my heart, I have
decided to disengage from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and
consequently step aside from partisan politics in the interim.” Ken Nnamani was the President of the Senate of Nigeria between 2005 and 2007.
He said he had lost confidence in the capacity of the PDP to provide
opportunity for him to continue to play the politics of principles
and values he believes in.
