The notice of the vacation was contained in a
three-paragraph statement by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi
Adesina, in Abuja. The statement also said that
the Vice President, Prof.
Yemi Osinbajo, will perform the functions of the President during the time of his vacation. According to Adesina, the notice of the vacation had since presented
to the Senate
President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He also stated that the decision is in
compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
